Add Google Buzz This Button to Blogger, Wordpress and Websites

Buzz this
It has been now three days since Google launched Google Buzz service. Besides Twitter, Facebook, Digg, Stumble Upon etc… now internet users have got another site to share posts with each other. So far Google hasn’t officially started providing any sort of scripts for adding up the Google Buzz this button for sites. This blogpost basically explain you how to add a "Buzz this" button to every post on your blogger blog.  But, you can add this script to any other website if you know basics of HTML and CSS style sheets.

Go to layout then Edit HTML from dashboard in blogger account.

Click on Expand widget templates at right top side of an editor.

Locate there data:post.title/>

Now, copy and paste code that you have downloaded, after  data:post.title/> and then click on preview to check if everything works fine. If no, then check for uncompleted tags else click on Save template.

Now, your readers can share posts in Google Buzz without moving from your post.

How to add Google Wave inside your Facebook account

Buzz this
As we all know Google Wave is an online tool for real-time communication and collaboration. A wave can be both a conversation and a document where people can discuss and work together using richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

Today i would like to introduce to a new Facebook application which was created by me for my personal use. But i would to share it with my friends and Bmiint reader. Application name is Google Wave itself, in order not not make confusion and chaos. And i have designed a profile picture in way to attract people, the picture says, "Google Wave in Facebook"

So now, How to add this application?

1. Log in to Facebook.

2. After reaching your FB home, please copy paste the link given aside to the address bar,   and http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=206361489456 click enter, where it redirect you the application homepage.

3. Or after logging into facebook just Click Here.

4. After reaching the application home page, please do become a fan.

5. Then click on to "Go to Application button", while it redirects you into a FB page, where inside a iframe Google Wave appears.

6.While adding this application do bookmark this, since it can help you in ease of access to this applicaton.

So here is a Screen shot how Google Wave looks inside Facebook (double on the image to see full screen)

Will Google Wave kill Facebook?

Buzz this

On the 30th of September 2009, Google will be giving out 100,000 invites to people who have registered to be among the first to try out Google Wave. In case you haven’t heard, this is a new and revolutionary Google application that could very well turn online communication and collaboration completely on its head.

Take a look at this abridged version of the Google Wave presentation (below) to find out what the fuss is all about, or watch Google’s whole 80 minute presentation here.

What do you think? E-mail, instant messaging and all the other online collaboration tools we have grown accustomed to using are starting to look so primitive and outdated all of a sudden, aren’t they?

How does Google Wave work?

Google Wave gets its power from the fact that the streams of communication, called waves, are hosted on Google’s servers and are able to update web browsers in real time with a whole variety of content. That, and the fact that your Wave communications are so much more organised, accessible and easy to manage.

For example, when someone sends you a message on Wave, you can branch it out into separate threads and reply to each part separately and even edit the parts you want. If the other person is online at the time, the whole Wave experience transforms into real-time mode, where you can instantly start having a text chat from within your web browser and collaborate to edit the same content at the same time, with your changes instantly visible to the other party.

It is also easy to add new participants to the wave or restrict parts of a wave to just some of the participants. People who join an existing wave have the option to play through the previous conversation step by step. This makes it easy to catch up with what was going on as though you had been there right from the start. Another great feature is that you can also embed whole waves in your blogs and websites, and instantly update the sites with images, text and whatever you post to the wave.

Add to that the fact that Google Wave can be extended by third-party developers, who are already working to create a host of extra applications and the possibilities for online communication are truly endless!

Is this the beginning of the end of Facebook?

Google wave has adopted a stream design similar to Facebook’s new user interface, where information from other people flows to you. But Wave has the potential to be much more than just Facebook on steroids. While Facebook limits you to communication with your friends, Google Wave lets you connect with absolutely anyone in your address book. This gives it a much wider scope as a tool for interacting with clients, prospects and just about anybody on the web.

So, will Wave kill Facebook and other social networks? That’s the big question!

Right now, our crystal ball is very misty on this issue. After all, Facebook users already have years worth of photos, videos and other information on the network, which they probably won’t just dispose of in a blink of an eye. Nevertheless, the challenge is most definitely on! Will Google Wave end up dominating, or will Facebook and other social networks evolve into something even better still?

It’s too early to say, but one thing is certain: the social Internet is poised for yet another change that will put more power into the hands of those who are willing to adopt the new technology. What is now a wave on the horizon, could very well turn out to be a tsunami that will change the social media marketing landscape once again, so keep your eyes open. The guys over at Facebook most definitely are!

Meebo Launches the Meebo Bar for Everyone

Buzz this
Meebo Launches the Meebo Bar for Everyone

A few months back, I partnered with Meebo to implement the Meebo Bar on Bmiint which allowed users to login to their IM accounts directly from Bmiint. It also allowed users to quickly share content on the site itself via social networks and other services such as Facebook, Twitter, Email, IM, and Yahoo Updates.  I received a lot of questions about the Meebo Bar from users who typically wanted to know where to get it or how I implemented something like that on my site.  Unfortunately, the only answer I could provide at the time was that it was done through a partnership with Meebo and that it was not available to the public.

However, as of today, that has changed.  Meebo is opening up their Meebo Bar to the public.  The public version of the Meebo Bar includes all of the same features as the one provided to Meebo Partners.  It even includes in-depth analytics so you can track shares and other data.  It is extremely easy to setup the Meebo Bar too.  If you are unfamiliar with the technology, it’s just a JavaScript plug-in, which means essentially all you have to do is copy and paste a snippet of code into your site and you’re off.

Additionally, Meebo Bar users can easily customize and add buttons to their bar from the online control panel on the Meebo website. I would highly recommend any blog or content-driven site jump on this opportunity. The Meebo Bar is an extremely great tool (that’s so easy to use) for quickly sharing content to some of the web’s most popular services.

Have you tried the Meebo Bar?  What do you think?  Leave a comment!  I should also note that I encourage you to share content on BestTechie via the Meebo Bar, don’t be afraid to use it!

Facebook Unveils Top Status Trends of 2009

Buzz this
Today i would like to share with my readers the top status trends of 2009 on facebook. Actually Status updates on Facebook help people understand their friends and the people around them - how they're feeling, what they're doing and what they're thinking. So here goes the top 15  list:

1 - Facebook Applications

Facebook has provided a platform for developers to create a number of hugely popular applications, and it is no surprise that people are talking about them. You could almost say that 2009 was the year of the farm in status updates. Since its emergence in June 2009, Farmville became the most talked-about application in status updates and now boasts over 72 million monthly active users. It wasn't alone. Farm Town also ranked highly, as did general discussions with the word "farm."

2 - FML

This digital slang became the hottest acronym to enter the Facebook lexicon in 2009. It spread from relatively low usage to become a mainstream word in status updates. FML is used almost exclusively online and in text messages, and its meaning, once very specific, has broadened. People now use it simply to express some frustration with an aspect of their lives. We'll leave the "F" open to your interpretation, but the "M" and L" stand for "My Life."

The beginning of May appeared to be a seriously frustrating time for people, when students were busy with finals and the weather was rainy just before summer. We saw a lull in "FML" in the summer months and, as expected, there was strong weekly periodicity to this term with it appearing most often on Mondays and Tuesdays.

3 - Swine Flu

Swine flu, or H1N1, was probably the biggest ongoing news story of the year. Discussion of H1N1 in status updates reached a peak in the spring—slong before the flu itself began affecting many people. When flu season began in the fall, people began discussing the term again, though never with the same frequency as when it first appeared. Another interesting trend is that no one called the virus H1N1 when it first appeared, but by September the effort to disassociate the term "swine" from the illness was fairly successful and "H1N1" occurrences now roughly equal "swine." Surprisingly, the use of the word "flu" over the year consistently peaked during the middle of the week and was at its lowest on Sundays. We're not sure why.

4 - Celebrity Deaths

No celebrity death had as immediate of an impact on status updates as Michael Jackson's. Mentions of his name were 10,000 times higher on June 25, the day he died, than the previous day, and no other unexpected news event can compare to the burst we saw on that day. Despite the huge impact of this story, mentions of his name lasted only about a week, with a resurgence during his memorial 12 days later. Rather surprisingly, Patrick Swayze's death was almost as large with about two-thirds as many mentions as Michael Jackson's on the peak day of status updates about Swayze.

5 - Family

As Facebook becomes more prevalent across demographics, people talk more about "mom," "dad," "son" and "daughter". We saw significant increases in all sorts of family-related words during 2009. Perhaps the most dramatic increase was "kids," a word whose occurrence went up by a factor of five.

6 - Movies

Whenever a new movie comes out, it creates a big spike in discussion in Facebook status updates. The most-discussed of 2009 was "New Moon." It narrowly edged out the big summer movies "Harry Potter" and "Transformers." Other big movies on Facebook were "Star Trek," "The Hangover" and "Paranormal Activity".

7 - Sports

In February of 2009, the Pittsburgh Steelers won the Super Bowl, and in October the New York Yankees won the World Series. The Steelers reached a higher peak in mentions, but largely because they only played a single football game to garner the top prize. The Yankees were discussed a bit less per day, but the discussion occurred over a longer period of time throughout the multiple games of baseball's World Series. We'll call this one a tie to avoid playing favorites or sparking sports-supremacy debates.

8 - Health Care

Since President Barack Obama took office, the discussion of "health care" has risen steadily in status updates. This reached a peak in early September when millions of pro-reform users updated their status with the following message: "No one should die because they cannot afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick. If you agree, please post this as your status for the rest of the day." For two days, millions of people posted this to their profiles in support of health care reform. The meme continued to circulate, gradually declining over the weeks that followed. Even aside from that meme, health care mentions are up 10 times since a year ago.

9 - FB

Whenever we make a change to the site a lot of people chime in with their opinions. For instance, we see spikes in mentions of "News Feed" on the order of 100-times increases whenever there is a change to the way that feature works or how the home page is laid out. "FB" and "FB Friends," on the other hand, have nothing to do with product changes, but as Facebook has become more prevalent people are shortening our name for convenience. Usage of the word "FB" has increased about 7 fold since the beginning of 2009 and "FB Friends" increased about 10 times over the same period.

10 - Twitter

Talk about Twitter took off at the beginning of the year. April showed a peak of activity and momentum, though mentions of the word "Twitter" decreased over the past few months. The acronym "RT," standing for "retweet," entered the lexicon along with the word "Twitter" in September of 2008 and has become a common acronym to describe reposting activity.

11 - Years

Many status updates are about what people are going to do or have just done, so naturally they often contain dates. While the number of posts containing a date didn't go up dramatically in 2009, the date itself changed to reflect the current and upcoming year.

12 - Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga was the biggest new performer of 2009 based on status updates from people in the U.S. She was virtually unmentioned until November of 2008 and spiked in mentions of her name in September of 2009 during the MTV Video Music Awards. At the end of September, Christopher Walken's performance of the song "Poker Face" caused a spike in that term, but didn't noticeably impact occurrences of "Lady Gaga."

13 - Yard

This is a trend that nobody would have guessed. The word "yard" seems fairly uncommon, and indeed it barely breaches a rate of five mentions in every 10,000 status updates. When we compare 2009 to 2008, however, we see a huge increase. Have all the hipsters turned to yard work as the latest fad? Probably not. A more likely explanation is that hipsters' moms and dads are also on Facebook, and these folks have yards that require some tending.

14 - Religion

Religious terms increased a significant amount in the last year. In the last 6 months, there was a noticeable upward trend in occurrences of "Lord" and "God." While "Easter" occurs infrequently most of the time, the Easter Sunday spike from 2009 is about 30 percent higher than it was in 2008.

15 - I

Until March of 2009, people updated their status in a box that appeared next to their name on the home page and, consequently, many updates started with the word "is." Once that box no longer was shown next to people's name, the usage of "is" dropped off dramatically and usage of "I" doubled almost overnight. Prior to March of 2009, "is" represented about 9 percent of all words in status updates. With the change in interface, it remained high in absolute terms, but dropped all the way to about 1.5 percent recently while "I" increased from 1 percent to about 2.5 percent.
